A Busy September!

As September comes to an end we look forward to Halloween and our official opening this Friday in particular! We hope everyone can join us in celebrating the official opening of our new school.

September has been a very busy and enjoyable month. Classes are all working hard and enjoying PE every week in our fantastic hall or on our new AstroTurf pitch.

Cumann na mBunscol competitions kicked off last week with the mini sevens camogie blitz in Coolarne, our girls played well and did their best, congratulations to them and especially to the girls who played for their school for the first time ever!

On Thursday 5th and 6th class took part in the Connacht Rugby World Cup School Series. The blitz was non-competitive and each school was given a country to represent for the blitz and asked to dress up/represent their country on the day. We represented Tonga and it was very enjoyable. We entered 4 teams, and each team played a minimum of 3 tag rugby matches. The speed and skill of the children from Monivea was noteworthy on the day, well done to all children who took part and thanks to everyone in Connacht Rugby for organising the event!

Well done also to our hurlers who played their mini sevens competition in Monivea on Friday, it was an enjoyable blitz and everyone did their best.

Finally, good luck to our girls football team who are taking part in the Cumann na mBunscol competition this week!!
