Mrs. Keane's Retirement

Friday 11th Novemeber 2022, marked was a very special day and sad day in Monivea National School. Mrs. Anne Keane retired after 37 years of teaching, 34 of which she gave loyal service, hardwork and dedication to the children, staff and school of Monivea. We want to thank Anne whole heartedly for all her work, humour, dedication and kindness to the entire school community but especially to our children that were so fortunate to have had her as their teacher. Anne was joined by her huband Sean, her children Eimear, Niamh, Cathal and Darragh, her mother Eileen, sister Sylvia and her brother Alan. Fr. O' Brien delivered a beautiful mass and Harry Monson played some beautiful music along with our resident musicians. Mrs. Geoghegan delivered a beautiful heart felt speech,  reiterating, the huge loss Anne will be to our school and thanked her for all her dedication and hardwork throughout the years. The staff played an active role in the mass and the children presented her with a beautiful scrap book filled with their love and memories of Mrs. Keane. The children sang some beautiful songs, one of which had lyrics written specially for Anne. The Staff and the Board of Management made a presentation to Mrs. Keane, which I'm sure she will treasure.

On behalf of all the staff, children, Board of Management and the entire school community, we want to wish Anne, a very long, healthy and happy retirement and we hope she will visit us soon.
